Tristam Lansdowne paints remote, idealized landscapes that appear so contained they seem almost artificial. It’s easy to imagine these distant oases as dioramas or holograms for some sort of mad scientist’s sci-fi weather experiment. Architecture, plants and geological formations are stacked neatly together, presenting the manmade and the natural co-existing in a way that seems too good to be true in the world as we know it today.
